Hydrocyclones are generally used for solid liquid separation with particle size in the range of 0.3mm and above. For efficient removal of dirt, Multi-clones are also manufactured.
It is utilized to reduce the load on the filter and other separation equipments. They are used singly or in batteries with no moving parts.
It works on vortex flow. The larger particles are thrown outward and are finally collected from the bottom of the cone.
